World famous fashion photog blogger Scott Schuman is in Europe for the Men's Fashion shows in Milan & Paris.


In between shows Schuman will post street images from Florence, Milan, Berlin, Paris, Venice.

The Sartorialist began as a means to share photos of people that Schuman saw on the streets of New York that he thought looked great.

"When I worked in the fashion industry (15 years), I always felt that there was a disconnect between what I was selling in the showroom and what I was seeing real people (really cool people) wearing in real life".

NO JIMMY CHOO SUBURBS IN BRISBANE?

Former ABC journalist & web creator Verica Jokic of Cityhobo.com has taken the unique approach of comparing suburbs in Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne to shoes.

Having moved around a lot Jokic says she always found it a challenge selecting a suburb to live in.

24 suburbs are listed in Brisbane to date & thus far Jokic has not identified a Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo suburb. Sadly, we only reach the heights of designer slippers, Country Road & Bally.

Clearly Jokic has not met any of the women I know & before you ask, yes, they all live in a suburb cluster. The likes of Maryons, Jean Brown, Louis Vuitton, Gary Castles & DJ's designer shoe department don't merely sell great lashings of shoes to out-of-towners!

While she does lament she is not done & still has plenty of research in front of her, this shoe devotee does hope this is not yet another example of our southern counterparts portraying Brisbane as Hicksville.

TROPICAL FEET

Perusing the neatly laid out clothes I have fastidiously fashioned around my suitcase, I am wondering whether five pairs of stilettos is five pairs too many for a Fijian getaway…?

In a land where the bare foot & a Muumuu is considered acceptable attire I may need to rethink the contents of my luggage...

KRISTY HINZE TO ATTEND MBFF

Is Kristy Hinze leaving her new husband, Netscape founder Jim Clark?

Only momentarily. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane Festival Director Lindsay Bennett was delighted to reveal Kristy has accepted an invitation from MBFF’s major sponsor Mirtna Capital to attend the Festival as their VIP guest.

On Monday, August 24, she will join the National Media lunch, & take a VIP front row seat at the evening group shows before attending a VIP After Party thrown in her honour by Mirtna Capital.
